Personal Bio…
I grew up in Colorado and North Carolina and did my undergrad at the University of Virginia (with an amazing Summer semester in Boulder thrown in). After college I worked in Washington D.C (biotech equity analyst) and San Francisco/Lake Tahoe (quant analyst / ski bum) before trading my skis for a surfboard and moving to Manhattan Beach, CA. I spend most of my free time learning to surf and traveling. And because I get this question daily, Mebane is Southern (US), derived from Scottish (McBain or MacBane), and rhymes with “web-in”.

MEBANE T. FABER, CAIA, CMT, is the portfolio manager at Cambria Investment Management where he manages equity and global tactical asset allocation portfolios. He is a frequent speaker and writer on investment strategies and has been featured in Barron’s, The New York Times, and The New Yorker. Faber is also the co-founder of AlphaClone, an investing research website. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a double major in engineering science and biology.
